In Memory of 黃家駒:
Repeat *

Taiwan - Taipei XI
Wednesday, June 29th, 2005This is the entrance way to the National Palace Museum. It is probably one of the most famous place in Taipei. Inside you will find lots of ancient articles; some of which are very interesting indeed.
This is a garden next to the National Palace Museum. It is a nice place where you can feed the fish and the geese.

I know it’s not a great picture; coz I was just passing by. This is a shopping center with a giant ferris wheel. I hope I have a chance to really go there and take a look. It is stange though, since the ferris wheel is just in the middle of a residential area.
Other than going to the above places, I went to look at condos with my friends. They were looking in the district of DaZhi, which is a wealthy area. We looked at a new condo of approx 1600 sq ft and it costs about $26,000,000 NTD (approx $6.5m HKD). It was really nice though. It has 3 bedroooms plus another small room/den and a servant room. The view was alright too, with nothing blocking on both sides. If I am rich, I would like to live there too.

This book is written by Spencer Johnson. I finished reading it within an hour while I was in a bookstore. I think it is a little cheesy. The things it say are quite obvious, but not sure if it is as useful as the book presents them. The whole summary of the book would be, "Live in the Present, Learn from the Past, and Plan for the Future." Truly, not that interesting; can’t believe it is 2nd on the bestseller list in Taipei.

The 228 Memorial Peace Park is named after the Feb 28 incident of 1947, the military suppression that resulted in the death of thousands of people in Taiwan. There are actually quite a lot to see in the garden.
If you have to choose one day to stay home, choose Monday, coz everything is close on Monday! This is one of the museums that I would like to go in, so if I have time left, I will come here again.
It looks really grand and nice.
The National Taiwan Hospital is probably the most famous hospital in Taiwan. There’s nothing special about it though; it just looks like any other hospital.
I have been to the North Gate, and now the East Gate. This one had been restored, and is clearly nicer than the North Gate. The West Gate would be at XiMenDing, but had been taken down. I will go to the South Gate the next time.
Interesting Fact! At night, 228 Memorial Peace Park is the place where gays and lesbians gather. What I don’t understand is why would they choose a garden to gather.
Sunday, June 26th, 2005

Sunday, June 26th, 2005A village with lots of hot springs; it is also the home of the Native Tribe people. It is a nice scenic area surrounded by mountains and rivers; a nice area to go for a walk and enjoy the evening. You will also find food and snacks of the tribe people, as well as their arts and crafts.
This picture is taken in 烏來 as well. It is a miniature waterfall, nothing compare to the one in Niagara. It is nice though, since the water is running down along the mountain.
